Privacy Notice: Augerline
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Jake Cadwell, trading as Augerline, postal address to be added (PO box being set up) ("we", "us") handles for the Augerline website, the beta sign-up and the Augerline app.
The short version
- The Augerline app has no server. Your projects, boreholes, logs and templates stay on your computer, in your browser's local storage and in files you save. We cannot see them, and the app does not send them anywhere.
- The app does not phone home. The licence key is checked on your machine using a digital signature. No usage data, telemetry or crash reports are sent to us.
- The website has no analytics, cookies or trackers of our own, and it loads no third-party fonts. Its only third-party script is Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-up form, which blocks bots (section 2).
- The sign-up form is our own. What you type into it is stored in our own Cloudflare database (Cloudflare D1, run by Cloudflare as our processor). Tally is no longer involved.
- Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated sign-ups, and is not stored.
1. Information we collect
| Source | What | Why | Legal basis (where GDPR or UK GDPR applies) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-up form (on the website; answers stored in our Cloudflare D1 database) | Work email, first name (optional), role, firm type and size, current tools, template and format needs, price answers, free-text answers, consent | To run the beta, choose design partners, decide what to build, and send updates about Augerline | Consent (the form's consent checkbox) |
| Bot check and rate limit on the sign-up form | Technical data such as your IP address and browser signals, processed by Cloudflare Turnstile. Your IP address, used briefly to limit repeated sign-ups: it is not stored, and only a one-way keyed hash of it is kept for the current rate-limit window (at most a day) | To keep bots and abuse out of the sign-up form | Legitimate interests (keeping the form usable and free of spam) |
| Email you send us | Your name, email address, message content and any attachments | To reply and run the beta | Legitimate interests (answering you) |
| Sample projects from design partners (only if you choose to send one) | Anonymised project data and sample log PDFs; may still contain incidental personal data such as logger initials | To test import and rebuild your log layout | Legitimate interests, plus our agreement with you |
| Purchases (later, if paid licences launch) | Name, email, firm, billing country, and what you bought. Card details go to the payment provider, never to us | To issue your licence key and keep required records | Contract; legal obligation |
We do not collect information through the Augerline app itself.
2. Third parties who process data for us
- Cloudflare: stores sign-up answers for us in our own Cloudflare D1 database, which Cloudflare runs as our processor, and runs the service that receives the form. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots; Turnstile processes technical data such as your IP address and browser signals. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.
- Cloudflare Email Sending: sends our beta emails from hello@augerline.com.
- A payment provider: none yet. If paid licences launch, we will name it here first (for example a merchant of record such as Paddle or Lemon Squeezy). It will process payments and sales tax and be responsible for the card data it collects.
- Cloudflare Pages: serves the static website. Like any web host, it may log IP addresses and request details for security and operations. We do not use those logs for marketing.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
3. How long we keep it
- Sign-up answers: until the beta ends plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
- IP address: not stored. The keyed hash used for the rate limit is kept only for the current rate-limit window, at most a day.
- Design-partner sample data: deleted when testing is finished, at the latest when the beta ends, or sooner on request.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
4. Your choices and rights
- Every email has a way to unsubscribe. You can also just reply "unsubscribe".
- You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your information, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to hello@augerline.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under GDPR or UK GDPR, or under California law (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
5. International transfers
Cloudflare and other providers may store or process data outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Security
We use reputable providers, protect the sign-up form with Cloudflare Turnstile and a rate limit, keep access to sign-up data limited to the people running the beta, and ask design partners to remove identifying details before sending sample data.
7. Children
Augerline is a professional tool. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
8. Changes
We will update this notice if what we collect changes, for example when payments launch. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
